Saptak Academy of Art & Culture offers diverse music and art education for all ages, fostering creativity and cultural appreciation in Serampur, Hooghly. Since it was founded in the year 2007 by Ms. Mahasweta Chatterjee, Saptak is taking forward the cultural legacy of Bengal. Presently, the academy is a “one stop” destination for several forms of performing arts and is one of its kind in the district of Hooghly

Discover Our Mission

The objective of the academy is not just to teach music and play instrument but to develop a positive appreciation for music and understanding of the cultural heritage and legacy of Indian classical and contemporary music among the students. Through the application of performing arts, it seeks to provide opportunities for children and adolescents to realize their potential, sense of agency and develop inter-personal skills that would help them in becoming a productive citizen.

The academy encourages all-round approach towards developing skills of music, speech and drama among the children. It sees performing art as an integral part of education along with academics for the holistic development of children.

Our Vision

Introducing Our Founder Principal

A musician who has done her Sangeet Alankar (Masters in Music- Vocal) from Rabindra Bharati University, Sangeet Bisharad (Bachelor of Music- Tabla) and specialized in North Indian Classical Music, Ancient Bengali song and Folk song. She has won several accolades from various renowned institutions and is also a Folk artiste recognized by the Department of Information and Culture, Government of West Bengal.

  • Acquired 2nd position in the Inter-college Completion on “Gana Sangeet” organized by Sanhati, Burdwan Universityin the year 2003
